More people are trading in their cubicle for a home-office or local cafe. With technology evolving at a fast pace and the introduction of tools like cloud servers, it makes it more flexible for us to work from home or anywhere. As a result, more employers are warming up to the idea and implementing their own telecommuting program.
You can tell by the stats in this infographic I found. Surveypayroll created this infographic detailing how common it is to work from home as well as other statistics you might find interesting.
The Home Office Revolution
Can you believe there will be a 64% increase in remote work in the next four years? That is some serious growth!
And yes, let’s hear it for small business owners who are more likely to allow their employees to work from home.
Productivity Boosters
This is my favorite part of the infographic. They list some great recommendations to be more productive when you work from home.
The first one is very important. Sure there are a lot of ads out there who encourage you to “work in your pj’s” but I can tell you firsthand working in your pj’s is a bad idea. I noticed a drop in my productivity on days I didn’t feel like getting dressed.
You don’t have to dress in business wear, casual outfits will do. I’ll share more about fashion trends for a work-from-home lifestyle in a later post.
