I received an email back in August to try out this platform called Inklpay that integrates with WordPress so bloggers can easily get paid for their content.
At the time I wasn’t feeling it because of what was going on in my personal life then.
Now that I’m getting back to my regular routine (slowly but surely) I finally took some time to look into it and you know me – if it’s going to help you make money, I’m going to tell you about it!
We as bloggers dream of getting our content seen – go viral even and we want it to attract more peeps to join our community and yes we wanna get paid!
Well, unless you’re blogging as a hobby.
But then again I do know some bloggers who have turned their hobby blog into a full-fledged business and if you’ve been thinking of doing the same with your hobby blog, keep on reading amiga or amigo because you’re going to want to know about this when you do!
Inklpay is a cool way to get paid for your content, eBook or video
So let me tell you what I’ve learned about Inklpay. It’s a micropayment service that lets writers, bloggers and vloggers to collect 10, 25, 50 cents or $1, $2 or $5 for their article, post, eBook or video.
At the end of your content, your readers will see a button they can click on to pay or tip you for it.
It’s not going to be popping up in their face while they’re reading your blog post or watching your video. It will be seamlessly placed at the bottom of each blog post. Here’s a screenshot of what it would look like on a mobile device.
Right now, Inklpay can only be integrated into WordPress.org sites but you can email them to suggest other platforms they can work with.
Getting started is really easy. All you have to do is create an account, download and install the plugin and you’re all set.
After that, you can go back to an older post and you’ll see the options on the right to select if the content is free, if you’re asking for a tip or if you’d like to be paid. There are other settings to select like the amount, how much preview to give your reader and a button style.
How to introduce this to your community
I know what you’re probably thinking. You’re probably thinking it’s going to be kinda weird to ask for a tip or to charge for your content.
Trust me I know exactly how you feel. After I set up my account, the first thought that came to my head was “I don’t want to just spring this on my visitors so how the heck do I do this?”
After all, we’re blogging to help others, right?
On the other hand, our blog is our business and the goal is to make money. This is just another way to monetize your blog.
And Inklpay expected we would have that concern. That’s why they created a page on their site with suggested content to introduce this to our community on social media, in email and there’s a disclosure you can place on your website footer.
I thought it would be more convenient to put it in a blog post.
My final thoughts? I’m definitely going to give it a try. So, after this blog post is published I’ll activate the plugin and see how it goes!
Go to the Inklpay website to read more about it.
